Now this is a synth that is totally underrated, I've heard many people complaining about how bad MKS-50 (and alphas)sound, the fact is: unless you produce some heavily techno oriented music this might not be a synthesizer for you. Some pro musicians may tell you how bad this baby sings, but let me tell you: I've been doing music for quite many years now, and from all of my synths I've owned, this baby has sounded most original (If you dont count TB-303 in hehe) and it is definetly my favourite synthesizer. Some people have also spread some lies about the filters... they are incredible, I cant stop playing with this, it sounds so beautiful. It is a perfect synth for Hardcore/Psytrance/Goa music, and I recommend it to EVERYONE who wants to make some real techno. I've made a song that has 20 channels of multitracked MKS-50, only other synthesizer I used on it was TB-303 (and some MKS-50 sounds put through Sherman Filterbank2), if you want to know what MKS-50 is all about, check out my track at:

its a track called "thousand reasons to hate you" in my opinion it sounds very agressive, as MKS-50 usually does. UNIQUE machine... for some terror sounds, look no further

I bought one of these units from Mars Music for $50. I am very pleased with the analog sounds. For what it does, this unit was worth every penny. Great pads.

What can i say,APHEX TWIN in a box!I just got my MKS50 recently and its one of the best sounding analogs ive ever heard. The mks50 is best for ambient drones, big synth basses and wacky rave sounds(check out preset B86 for old school hoover action!!!!) ANYWAY KEEP TWIDDLIN! A.S.LENDON

Bought mine at a pawn shop for $300. I use it live in a guitar synth setup w/ a fretless bass as the controller. It has some of the coolest, cheesiest lead sounds, and the factory organ sounds are Dynamite! Only problem I have had with it is that the oscillators go out of tune when I change between certain adjacent patches; I have to scroll down, then up to "reset" them.
