This was my choice of the store and it really kicked my roommates new
yamaha to shreds. After a few weeks you can tweek the sequencer into
a little devil of a workstation - using the rps function you can trigger
individual sequence loops and re-mix (sort of) your compositions in
realtime. The vintage synth expansion board I bought gave me the sounds this
thing ached for - better bass better bass and more analogish pads.
Just dont get it updated to new OS if they cant do it in store...
mine was at roland in cali for a two months. The dance board is now unavailable due to copyright issues, but it wasnt
worth the money anyways. The XP80 has at least twice the sequencer
memory so if this is your standalone instrument get the 80. I hear the guy with the Cure uses it too. - If I worked at Roland - I would integrate sampling into their
workstations and make the screen 320x240 like the new PDAs. The
interface on this is fine, but orange gets trying after 12 hours or
so. Their is a midi problem too. -if the lfos of your sounds become volumous the lfos on your drums
may trigger wrong and your hihat will sounds like a tin can.
