I have used all functions of it, so I know it for 100%...Now I can say it works very fast and easy.

The beginning was difficult, I had 2 learn this instrument. But now I switch really fast between te different recording modes (2 simply delete/insert notes, change velocity/gates of notes, etc).

-just 50 memmory's :( -individual drumsounds R great -effects R poor (turn them of, or just use the chorus) -totally it sounds not good (except if the effects are 0% on , all tracks are 20% on normally) -part un/mute buttons -I like tweaking the knobs and record them -arpeggio -My midi-dump doesn't work :(

I wanna sell it but keep it 4 the drumsounds/ instruments, it has cool sounds. I'm now trying to use it as a drumsequencer(also for other gear). But doesn't realy fits in my setup.

Sometimes I sample drumsounds in the SU700 and process them. or I sample complete (dry) loops and change pitch, effects etc. I get great breakbeats with that! But standalone doesn't offer me that much 2 satisfy me.

bought it for $250 that's a good price 4 what I get (drummachine/sequencer/sounds/ live tweaking/editing)

I tried a MC505 for two weeks, it sounds a lot better (effects are reasonable). Controlling the MC505 is great! it has sliders for each track, for every important parameter (pan/vol/effect/etc)... beam controller is nice. Drumkits R good! totally it sounds more professional. 6 outputs. better/more synth-functions. Sounds R really aggresive, very sharp.

U could use the MC505 if ya got a lot of money, composing complete songs with it is realy possible. It's great 4 live situations tweaking and if you like working that way. But with the MC303 U can just make great beats/grooves. Not more then that. Songwriting isn't possible.

It's nice for some things (programming drums) tweaking knobs (cuttof-of freq etc), (un)muting tracks, arpeggio, composing basic shit/idea's etc. as a soundmodule (playing it with your keyboard). sequencer is basic but you can do a lot with it.

If you R not intended 2 learn your gear don't buy it...(btw. don't buy any gear :)

Keep doin' your shit...

The MC-303 is quite a bargain at only $339 brand new. Check Sam Ash. You cannot find anything for $339 new that will do what this baby does. Just wait, in a few years, they'll be selling for more than that used...my prediction. This box, in the right hands, really kick ass hard. The drum sounds alone are worth the price. You cant go wrong with the MC-303 unless you have no imagination or talent, then its of no use to you.

great machine.the sounds are crap, but it's a lot of fun to play it.and it's a cool notepad for your musical ideas while you're watching TV or doing something else.

hi. i bought my mc-303 2 years ago and still love it. it`s a great piece of gear and was worth the money i paid for it. the people that diss it just aren't musicians with own ideas and wouldn't make a cool track even with the best equipment. it's not the gear that you use, it's the ideas and feelings that you put in your music. i would recommend it to everyone who is starting out..I would never sell mine and will still be jamming on it in years.

Darkestr Yugo a hobbyist user from England writes:
I saw my little silver box of tricks in a second-hand shop for about 230.I bought it without hesitation and began the frustrating task of integrating it into my setup.Having very little synth experience, I found getting to grips with it a little confusing at first and as I prefer software sequencing, was beginning to wonder if I'd made a wise purchase.

It wasn't long before I was sequencing almost exclusively on the 303, my software sequencer relegated to providing the odd sampled loop or twiddly bit.

However, I don't feel as if it has revolutionised my music-making technique all that much.I had a fair idea what it did before i bought it but overall I must say I'm disappointed. But as a source of ideas and the occasional squidgy riff, it's not let me down yet.

I just wish that in sound module mode, it was a little bit more useful.
