Excellent, pro-quality analog at reasonable prices. Made better with already-available jacks from which midi's easily available with a Kenton box. Nice modulation routings and arpeggiator too. A relatively cheap way to get top sounds.

I bought a Pro 1 new when they first came out and it is still going strong. It has never failed, never moaned about being dropped, having beer spilt over it or being left in the rain for nearly an hour ( dried out with hair drier before being plugged in again) This synth has been used to create all sorts of sounds besides music even 'horror' moans and groans for a television ghost story. You can have so much fun making amazing and odd sounds ( we woke up half a street with the drone of a WW2 bomber played through a 200 watt amp at 3 o clock in the morning once expecting that all around would say " did that little synth produce all that sound ?" but no all we got was complaints - well you can't win them all. Oh I almost forgot, this synth produces the grittiest, sweetest, sweeping and earth shattering musical sounds that I have ever heard from any other monosynth. I agree with one reader with regard to the keyboard, it clanks and creaks and the contact need cleaning on a regular basis, who cares ? just keep playing it and you'll be able to walk down the street and hear people say " look at his fingers, see how hard and splayed the ends are, he must have a Pro 1" You will then walk away with the pride that others will know that you own, possibly the greatest monosynth ever to play music on this planet.

Great monosynth period. I've had a minimoog and I feel the Pro One has more character. The pro has some really whacky routing capabilities and just sounds like a monster! The build quality is just alright, it's extremely light! Great synth - not so cheaply priced anymore.. In good to mint condition they're selling anywhere from 500 to 900 usd! Heavy! But they're definately better than a mini in my berry berry humble opinion.

This was my first ever synth in 1982ish. The sounds that you can get from the thing are excelent if you are willing to learn how to get the best from it. My first love (so to speak).
I also had a great deal of fun CV gating the Pro-One from an SH101 with the sound from the SH101 being fed into the aux in port. Talk about awesome!
The complexity of the sounds were astonishing and occasionally vibrantly growling!
