Yes all is true. This does rock. and the Keyboard Sucks! But I only use to filter samples and Drum Machines. Specially drums. It creates a wild, almost 303 sound that keeps in time with all beats.

I found one in a pawn shop for $60. But it didn't work. So i spent $180 to get it fixed after sitting around teasing me for nearly half a year!! This thing makes the most brutal sync sounds you'll ever hear. Belches from the bowels of hell. But alas i had to sell it:0( But i bought a Mono/Poly:0) But now i'm thinking of trading it for another pro-One. I miss those raunchy x-mods way too much!! This & the M/P are the best value in a mono-synth around. Hands down.

I just got one for $250. I'ts great. This is the first analogue
synth I'v owned (exept for the minitmoog, what a joke, and yes
that is spelled MINITmoog, look it up). I'v had it a few days
and in spite of what people say, I'am learning how to use it
very quickly. I would like some drum pached though.
OH YEAH, THE EXTERNAL INPUT ROCKS!!!

The Pro-One is one of the best synths I've ever had the chance to play around with. The ASDR are all super tight, it's great for drums, you just gotta have the knowledge and the world is yours on this baby.

I own several more modern digital instruments but the Pro-1 is still my favorite keyboard. I had one in the 1980's but I lost it in a house fire. A few years ago I found one in a second-hand store that did not usually deal in musical instruments. The guy asked me if $50 dollars was too much and somehow I managed to contain myself and not jump out of my shoes! The keyboard has given me a bit of trouble from time to time. I had to reattach some of the rubber bushings that hold the contact wires onto the bottoms of the keys, but hey, all it took was a drop ofcrazy glue. Paia makes a midi-to-cv kit (the "MIDI-2-CV-8") which is compatible with the Pro-1 so I hope to incorporate it into my midi system in the near future. Once I do this I suspect that the Pro-1 will become an integral part to just about every bass line I create. A fun thing to do with this instrument (or any analog synth) is to let your non-musician friends paly around with it. Since they aren't trying to play it like a piano or other musical instrument, they come up with some pretty incredible and weird (I LIKE WEIRD!)sounds. Also, this thing just looks plain COOL on my keyboard rack!
