got it a year ago (1998) im exellent condition for $440. at first i thought i wasted my $$$ because the sounds were VERY lame(like most of you people said). so it just sat around for about a half year collecting dust in my studio. but i got off my lazy ass and started playing with the edit matrix and OH BABY!!!!!!! after about 30 minutes of messin around i came up with a TB-303 bass sound but WAY weirder. i have also cranked out some EXTREMELY dark sinister drones with it. the ONLY problems i have with this synth is the sequencer, whenever i program a pattern on my mmt-8 to trigger the multi-trak the cheesy built in sequence starts playing when i hit play on the mmt-8. so i have to start out the track faded down on the mixer while hitting the stop button on the multi-trak sequencer, then fading the sound in on the mixer. a pain in the ass, i dont have a manual so if i did i probally could figure out how to stop this problem. overall its a GODLY synth!!!!!

After exploring this unit a bit more, I've come to the conclusion that this synth is absolutely INCREDIBLE. It is entirely possible to do entire tracks, drums and all, using only this synth and a couple of effect boxes. Since my computer is down for the moment, I've been doing tracks using only the sequencer that's built in. This part sucks rabbit ass, but I live with it for now. Anywho, using the FACTORY programmed kick, my own hi-hats and a variety of other sounds, I have come up with some pretty dope tracks. You really need to explore this synth in depth to get the best out of it. Http://members.theglobe.com/reflexx1

This synth is DOPE! Great basses, great leads, pads and strings are aiight... Weird blips and bleeps (ala Derrick May) are great. MIDI implementation leaves a little to be desired. Arpeggiator syncs to MIDI (great!), but no realtime editing to speak of. If anyone knows the RPN/NRPN #'s for the parameters, it would be VERY appreciated. Runnin' this thing through an effects processor really brings out the best in it!

The multitrack was the last analouge synth made by sequential. It's one of the
few multi timberal analouges ever made. The nice thing about this board is
everything can be run through midi, and I mean every thing. heres a map of the programable voice parameters.
special note- the multitrax can also reed drum trax data

I didn't have the manual for this synth, so info on it, was limited to me at the time. Bottom line is that, This synth is rather unique sounding in its own way. I was used to playing ROLANDS for so long that when I first heard this synth, it sounded very thin to me. this was only after trying out the factory patches. after messing with the edit parameter, some very nice sounds started to surface, The sounds even got better with some effect. So, if you are into creating sounds out of the ordinary, you may be interested in this one. overall it is a very good machine. I didn't like it at first, (was very dissapointed) but now I can't get enough of the damn thing!!!!I would buy one again, and in fact, I'm looking for a Max Sequential. I have started to collect the SEQUENTIAL line of synths (not the sequential Circuits line) SO if anyone out there has a MAX or a TOM... Drop me a line.
