I love this instrument for the kind of unique vector/wavesequenced type sound it can produce-like no other instrument. The effects are decent even in 1999!, and the biggest deal is the inclusion of the 2 analogue inputs that allow you to pipe external signals through the synthesis engine and effects and be very creative! The vocoders come in handy here and I'm glad about the front panel vector joystick. This synthe's specialties include huge pads, strings, evolving movie soundtrack type sounds. It's acoustic emulations are OK but they wouldn't stand up to todays Tritons/Trinity's etc. By the way my favourite factory patch of all time is 'ZZ Lead' which is supposed to mimic a distorted lead guitar sound- I could play this sound well into the next century!!!!
