I bought a CS10, circa 1979, one week ago which I found in a second hand store. I'd been looking for an analog synth mainly to make samples with. This is a fairly simple synth, monophonic with only one VCO, but good, rich sounds. Nice VCF too. Yamaha still has the User Manual online! I also downloaded the Service Manual, although it's built extremely well and should last another 25 years with ease.

I placed a Zoom 506II Bass effects box between the CS10 and the amp and the sounds are fantastic, as if these two were made for each other! Now I see what all the analog fuss is about. What tone.

A fat synthesiser indeed! Capable of some really fat basses as well as lots of other kinds of sounds. If you see one, buy it!

I bought a cs10 from this guy for 50 bucks... a friend of mine's got an ms20 but i really like my cs10 more :) Although only one osc i can play with it for hours and still not get tired of it. I also got an OB12 but somehow seem to use my cs10 a lot more..

got this as part of a 'package deal', and was extremely suprised by the quality!

the single VCO has great quality waves that really make a difference - the sawtooth is solid and powerful, and the simultaneously available pulse with PWM gives you lots of fatness.

the real star, though, is the multi-mode VCF, anyhting from speaker-busting bass to piercing band-pass sweeps - this was made for those twisting, snaking drum and bass b-lines you know and love... (or should)

an underrated classic. i'm sure as hell going to check out other CS models if and when i can find them.

finally got the cs10,great sounds, fast env bass, and i love to play w/ the lfo speed and lfo waveform selector(saw or sine),and moving the filter knobs at the same time, some raw and morphing electric waves coming out,and the sound morphing is easy to get.solid built, tho the filter's not self oscillated, but it's got the character,'coz i can do that self-osc stuff on others like sh101s or sixtrak.a must add-on to the analog synth collection if ur a analog purist.
