Very nice. Picked one up less than half price (Canadian$900) as for some reason Yamaha stopped making them. Probably trying to push the CS2x/6x.

The possibilities on this are fairly limitless. using Analogue emulation, it is capable of some fairly authentic sounds. In terms of sounds, the Nord and the JP8000 just about beat it, but both machines are much more expensive making this the best in my opinion.

Plenty of knobs and a nice layout make this a pretty decent control synth. I use this along with a GR-50 guitar synth as my main controller.

It's really a great Synth ! Great sound, powerful in programming (I've my AN1X for closely 1 year and I still discover new sounds), not so much expensive. I'm using it with a M1 and I think I'll never change them. Enjoy with it!

My favorite VA next to the NORDs. It has great control and you can make some very impressive spaced out sounds with it. The knobs have nice action and allow for indepth control. Great for playing live and in the studio..plus the built in fx are not bad..they sound a little dul compared to more expensive external boxes..but cant complain for internal fxs at all. The grid/matrix is a bit of a pain, but you get used to it..in fact..depending on what you like to do you may hardly even use it. This synth is great for sound creation..coupled with a sampler and you have quite a sound arsenal to add to your studio.

This has to be the best deal I've ever gotten. $495 at Guitar Center brand new. This is an incredible synth, not just for a VA, but a simply a great synth. Sure it would have been nicer to have more polyphony and a disk drive/card slot, but this is really easy to tweak and I come up w/ new sounds all the time. Don't judge this by the presets. I'm not into techno/trance, so I wasn't that crazy about them. It's the potential of this synth that attracted me. This is one of my faves of the synths I've owned and would not even think of parting w/ this thing.

I own my AN1x now for closely 2 Years, i bought it cause i had not enough for the Nord... Today i would NEVER sell this Analogy Beast, and my friend's Nords are all sold meanwhile for a few bucks! It was the best buy of my whole Equipment, no external FX needed, you can create completly new sound of a simple Preset, only using the FX ! (So i went to the Dealer to buy an A3000 - but what a mess! - but this is another story...). The PC-Editor is very good, but mostly used to store the whole Presets or a part of them. You can play with this Synth for hours and hours, you will always find something new. Only the Strings from the Jupiter8 sounding like they do. Try to take 30 Minutes for trying it, and you will take it with you.......
