here's my story .actually i'm not a techno head, but more into 70's kind of music style .i was working in a music store which sold it and i thought it was too pricey for me to even dream programming this synth (i just hated the sequences and other dance patches , but i so it has some potential).anyway last week i went to the store and found out that the synth is on sale and the price is only 2500 nis (about 625 $) so i just grabbed it and it's a really great bargain . never loved a synth better (and even the techno patches are fine...)

Doc a part-timer user from USA writes:
Cripes! I just bought one of these and a DJX and I've been up for three straight days! I never knew making music could be so much fun. I am deeply into the sounds of Crystal Method, Chemical Bros. William Orbit, etc, and this thing is like a dream come true. Snatch one up while you still can cause this is the best synth Yamaha ever made and it is going to rock your world!

BillyBob a hobbyist user from ThaBronx writes:
Just wanted to say, that there is a sine wave generator. Just make a saw wave, and adjust the Edge to 0, and bam- instant sine wave. The machine might seem difficult to program at first, but if you read the manual from front to back its very simple. Great for creating new sounds if you know about filters (eg. high-pass, low-pass), and LFO's. Take your time and this machine will do whateva you want it to!

Richie a hobbyist user from UK writes:
Everyone!!, I don't know about other countries but this thing is selling for 500 pounds brand new in the UK at the moment!!!

In fact the cheapest I have seen it for (Brand New) is 425 pounds!!! For a synth of this quality that is cheap!!! Just see Septembers issue of Future Music!

Everyone has mentioned all the good points allready but here's my own,, The on-board effects/eq are so good that you don't need to tie up any external units you can just use this baby straight. My favorite thing about this synth is the fact that ALL the settings (synth/fx/sequencer/eq/ect/ect) are saved within a patch making recalling that old track that mutch more simpler.

An1x user a hobbyist user from Canada writes:
All the presets sucks and there is no sine wave generator (just saw, pulse and mixes). Otherwise the sound quality is excellent, Fat. Much better than my Roland Jv sampled in memory synth. I think that the guy who wrote in the review that the piano sounds are excellent is on chemicals. But for the rest, i agree...
