Goa-Boy...Yamaha continued the AN1x as the smaller AN200...and even better the AN200 costs only 200US$ in the USA...400Euro in Europe...

Yamaha an1x is absolutely superb. I luv Goa Trance and this machine kicks sand in the face of jp8000 (roland sucks anyway), nord lead, virus, supernova (these are more expensive and 'baby' brands -- recently established companies)...

the an1x has absolutely the phattest filters..i mean PHHHHAT! and the range of sounds you could create with a little physics knowledge and the an1x editor (created by Greg) is amazing!!!

I HATE YAMAHA for discontinuing this synth. Roland makes very few good keyboards and they never discontinue those, that is what i actually like about roland. The plg 150-an plug in board and the desktop an200 module yamaha makes are limited compared to the an1x.

YAMAHA!!! please start remaking this beauty (maybe you could release the an2x or something, with more midi control)...

AN1x is a great synth better sounding than the Nord lead, Korg Z1 and JP 8000 VA synths and you guys can get a free sound editor off the internet which is superb, and you could get free sounds and another free sound generator also called genetic that randomizes the the current sound also off the internet I still have my copies of those programs even though I sold my AN1x keyboard, I bought a Oberheim OB-12 synth analog modeling and It gives more midi channels and more voices and more outputs and more buttons and sliders and more better interface screen and all for just $750.00 new so had to sell my old faithful for the new generation synth, but the AN1x will do you great sound service for years to come for virtually a few hundred dollars. It just doesn't have enough multi timbriality and interface screen is too small and menus buried too deep to dig for quick sound editing it may take you years to dig into the menus and maximize its potential but for the price you can't beat it.

I got a second-hand AN1x for $600 2 years ago, and maybe I paid a lot overprice because you can get them cheaper. But it's worth every $ and even more then so! A calm blue colour, warm sound and easy-to-use makes this machine to a winner for a long time, maybe AN1x also becomes a classic. Both JP8000 and MS2000 was released at aproximately the same time and at same price. In my opinion, you get the most for the money if you choose AN1x. You can olso download a lot of free sounds from internet, most of them very useful. I love it and I think I don't sell it. Ever. Only one bad thing: the very-sensitive AT-function of the keyboard, but I can live with that.

I've owned a an1x for more than 2 years now and it still suprises me, the sounds are really good and the seq is perfect. I love the sound of this machine and always will. great filters and pushable knobs (u can see witch position it on and hold it to make fine adjustments) But it looks really shitty and its not usable as a good midi controller not all the contollers send midi so some knobs are unusable. i hate the presets but making your own voices is really easy and fun. but its still the best synth 450 euros can buy.
