I just got my An1x a couple of days ago, and I was utterly amazed that anything NOT analog could produce such a ballsy sound. very impressed, especially with the incredible arpeggiations you can make on this thing -- an idustrial / EBM dream... only thing i am not too keen on is the interface. not bad, but there's plently of empty space in this puppy to have put a few more knobs on it without having boosted the original price too high...

Outstanding synth, very good for it's money (I got mine around 440 euros with no problems). If you want a VA synth with the fattest sound around get AN1x.This is my second synth and we are going to grow old together!

Try gennetix (utility that morphs 2 sounds in 128 variations!) check out Deep Blue, Church bell and Sprinkler in the pads section

This is just a preliminary review. Like the previous reviewer, I scored this sucker for $400 off of Ebay. At that price it's an unbelievably good deal. 2 VCO's with FM and more than adequate cross-modulation abilities make this a programming delight...too bad the interface was designed by a heartless robot. Lack of designated data knob like on the Cs1x makes it cumbersome to alter parameters contained in the matrix. I haven't tried An1xEdit yet though. The sound is amazing. Very organic! Not as bright as the Nord stuff, but just as powerful sounding. The effects are ok, but I usually use them as an afterthought. I'm going to hook mine up to a Drehbank by Doepfer turning it into a knobladen monster! 4 1/2 out of 5.

Best keyboard I ever bought. Forget Wet Wet Wet, this is PHAT PHAT PHAT ! I'm gonna give it 4 outta 5 though 'cos of the dodgy interface.

This synth is incredible and it's a wonder why Yammie didn't hype it a little more. Get one off Ebay and thank your lucky stars that you finally own this classic. I got mine there for $400 in mint condition. The presets blow but are extremely easy to make into your own creation. Plus, when you download the free software editor, it comes with a whole other bank of sounds programmed by a true synth wiz. That's what's fun about this synth. There's a ton of user created patches for the AN1x on the net. Once downloaded, they go directly into the software editor and are ready to play. You're gonna have a blast with this synth! Not only is it an unbelievable bargain, but it is very distinctive and unique.
