loco gear guy a professional user from L.A., CA writes:
I got this a while ago because I wanted to try it out. I loved it but then it had to go cause it was taking up too much space + it was a distraction from my other more professional gear that sounds better (because it's more expensive, DUH!).... Put it this way though... this thing stands up to stuff like the Mo'Phatt (which I've owned), The MC-307, which I have right here and the XL-7. Actually, the sounds on the DJX are surprisingly well chosen, meaning that a lot of them don't sound too outdated, which isn't the case with sound from let's say... MO'PHATT. Anywa, all gear has its strengths and this one's got some DAMN good ones generally but more so for its price. I'm supposed to go pick up one tomorrow for $50... I just have to have it again. Peace!

irwjager a part-time user from Ireland writes:
It's all been said here before; extremely good bang for your buck. The DJX 1 is worth its money alone for the drumkits and it's a decent controller as well. The limitations can actually work quite inspiring. Some hidden sounds at bank MSB 111, LSB 1-127. Some are usable (but don't expect radically different timbres), some are not. Use MIDI + a sequencer if you want to get the most out of the DJX - you can achieve a whole lot. Still a very good piece of kit to get started with.

i see a lot of people give this a 5,what marks they have in there pockets for the reallygood stuff i dont know.plus:cheap, some sounds are good, cons:no memory (sucks ),no backlight display( if you a daytime musican maybe no problem ,but for me is very very ...),tochsensetivety not very good, a waste of space in my studio (its to big ) and terrible designed in my opinion.i decided to stay with it for a while because i like some sounds but it is an not growing unit ,that means no programming and it will ever stay an yamaha keyboard and never become my own.sorry for the mark but always start with the factory presets is painfull and time consuming !!

Gary a hobbyist user from USA writes:
One of the coolest "home" keyboards ever! You can actually use this baby for professional music making if you wish. Lots of different styles and sounds, a great ribbon controller, sampling features and a real resonant filter! Usually one in really good condition can be found on ebay for $100 these days.
