I've used this PSR225 for the past couple of years as a keyboard-arranger for the road for new ideas I may acquire to quickly put together and design new compositions. It's supurb, especially for the price range. The sound quality is astonishing, as it is the most important aspect I must have in a keyboard. The concert grand piano sound is unbeatable in this price range. I would definitely recommend this setup.

I bought this keyboard four years ago. I use yamaha psr 225 as my main keyboard when playing for concerts (i'm a keyboardist in a band). I LOVE its voices and those small items on the LCD! :D My fellow keyboardists are of the opinion that keyboards such as Kawai and Casio are incomparable with yamaha's superb flexibility for sounds and accompniament. However, i miss the built-in floppy drive :(
my opinion? great value for money! :) well done yamaha! 4/5

I just bought Yamaha PSR-225GM, a new version from Yamaha - signifying it's ready for general MIDI. It doesn't look different though. The piano sound is great for the price. Casio is definitely less convincing. The touch sensitivity has 3 variation in sensitivity - allowing you to play softly, or relatively loud. You can also turn this off if you want. It's relatively easy to use - recording songs and erasing them are a matter of looking up the manual. Definitely recommend the product if you're looking at $150 keyboard. The features will make you happy.

A great instrument to start off on... Quite good sounds, good build and great when used with Cakewalk...

I got it as a christmas present.. its a nice keyboard.. note its not a synth.. keyboard..
big big difference.. but its nice.. at first i thought it was too weak.. but hooked to the pc (midi) with a sequencer its decent.. instruments are nothing to wow over.. tho i do like the onboard effects.. however i mainly use this keyboard as a midi controller.. just to input ideas onto the computer.. definately a good first keyboard.. even at the low price i would like a way to repatch this thing.. which it doesnt have.. and the onboard sounds again are not that great.. piano sample is the best thing..
