The RS7000 maybe better, but then it is 700 more expensive!

The RM1x is not a toy.

So, some of the presets are a bit naff, but play with the settings and you have a massive range of sounds.

A person wrote "you don't expect to be writing mad tracks from one box with two outpus". True, but it can be done. I've done it, and the tune will be featured on a compilation CD to be released later this year/early next.

I'm not trying to convince people this is the only bit of kit you need, because it's not, but it gets you on the right track in double time!

Forget software, viva la hardware re-evolution!

Tejel a professional user from USA writes:
I'm a vocalist and lyricist trying to venture into production with my at home mini studio which I've just added the RM1X to. As a complete novice I've found the machine to be very user friendly. I was amazed that in one week I had recorded and mixed down two songs. Looks like my recording world just got simpler. Big Up!

I HAD ECOUNTERED THE RM1X AT A BUDDY'S HOUSE FOR A FEW DAYS AND SHES BEEN ON MY LIST SINCE THEN. I MADE THE INVESTMENT WHICH AS YALL KNOW WAS WELL WORTH IT. FOR ME THE RM1X HAS NO CONS. WHATEVER IT LACKS OR DOESNT PLEASE CERTAIN FOR SOMEONE EXPECTING EXTRA, YOU CAN ALWAYS GET THE RIGHT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT TO MAKE IT RIGHT. HOWEVER YOU CANNOT GET A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT TO SUBSTITUTE THE RM1X IF YOU NEEDED TO. (FOR THOSE LIVE EMERGENCY OR TEMPORARY PROBLEMS.). AS MULTIFUNCTIONAL AND DIVERSE THE RM1X CAN BE,FOR THOSE THAT CRITICIZE ITS LACK OF SOMETHING THEYD EXPECT OR WANT OUT OF THE RM1X NEED TO REMEMBER THOSE TIMES ON THE WAY HOME WITH THE BEST BEAT YOUVE THOUGHT OF IN YOUR HEAD TRYING HARD TO KEEP IT IN THERE, AND YOU GET HOME THE RM1X IS READY TO TAKE IT ON ANY LEVEL. DRUMS,HORNS,LFO,REALTIME USE, THIS MACHINE IS A PLUS. THE MIDI USE,PATTERN,AND RECORD MODES COME IN VERY USEFUL KNOWING WHAT THE RM1X CAPABILITIES ARE.WHEN IT COMES TO SEQUENCERS NEED I SAY MORE?

aij a part-time user from Australia writes:
Sounds are kinda lame. I've noticed this thing actually aliases on some sounds. Something is dodgy in there. I mean, the sounds are OK. But you don't expect to be writing mad tracks from one box with two outpus anyway, so it doesn't matter about the sounds. The sequencer is 9/10. Thats why i bought it. The only bitches i have with the sequencer are that it cuts off long notes at the end of each pattern, meaning you can't sequence everything how you might have liked to......and to change between styles you have to kinda do it 'dodgily' by turning that style knob. Its okay now coz i'm sync'd up to a 505, and just let that play while i change styles on the rm1x, but i'm planning on phasing out the 505 soon...i hope yamaha fix it with an OS upgrade.

They probably won't though.
