Wow, just got this machine one day ago. So I can be short for now... It is a great sequencer, with great capabilities! Drumkits sound good, I will find out the rest in the weeks to come :) Anyway it's a great piece of gear!

I think the RM1x is awesome, my only criticism is on the keyboard, if you can call it that, and the quantize job which doesent always do what you want it to(or maybe I just have'nt set the resolution right)Some of the sounds are a bit poor but they can easily be beefed up using the EG and filter controls, nice! Overall a top notch bit of kit, money well spent I say

Well ill start by saying that i have had the re1x for about a week now and have had the chance to get kinda familiar with it. I am coming from the world of computer sequencers, i gave up on the pc for composing. and bottom line this thing reminded me that i am a musican and not a computer technicion!! Ill start with the cons, The things that bug me about this box are... 1. one midi in one midi out (this can be delt with via merge boxes) 2. one stereo pair of audio outs. (fine for a dj pluging it into a d.j. mixer but sucks in the studio) 3. not being able to proform record and some edits without pressing stop first. 4. 8 real time controlers is great but i would have payed another 150.00 bucks to have had 16 dedicated ones.

Now for what i like about it.

1. the sequencer is VERY good (the reason i bought it) 2. although the editing of the onboard sounds is limited they give me what i concider esential to make good of what they give you. 3. being able to record in patteren mode it is just like having a 808/909 sequencer(i know many DJ's that i plan on showing that to for proforming live) 4. the price, i picked this thing up for 800. bucks from a local music store. (used)

well i could go on about it but i will say this, I have never got so much for so little. And to all the ppl on here who are bitching about the sounds, PISS OFF! the sounds are great! the presets are typical, MAKE YOUR OWN SOUNDS! and MAKE YOUR OWN DAM BEATS! ....*phew* had to get that off my chest. after reading 20+ reviews on this board it seems to me that many people want the equipment they buy to wright there music for them. peace ya all and may the beats kick the booty :)

I just picked up a RM1X second hand and i love it. The sequencer is very eay to use and it sends and receives CC and PC's quick quicky although there are setting to be changed. I use it with a DX200 and a EA-1, and A4000 and some of the internal sounds of the rm1. Most of them are bad but some are cool and with some effects can be made to sound OK. The single outs are a pain, all my gear has single outs and it's begining to do my head in (but i like the so-called dj tools cos they are cheap and quite flexible. Oh and i don't make dance music, but squarepusher/autechre type stuff and the step sequencer is brilliant for that typ of music. I like it that much i am looking for a second rmx so i can have 32 midi channels.
