Alot of people should really read the rm1x owners manual. It is really helpfull for learning the RM's capabilities. The Rm1x is the best seq. ever. With each style having 16 SECTIONS, it forces you to make all kinds of variations, ass opposed to dropping parts in and out(mmt-8). Once you understand yamaha's way of talking, the world is yours, TRUST ME!!!
PS- IF ANYONE IS LOOKING FOR A CHEAP CONTROLLER FOR YOUR RM1X, GRAB A CHEAP ASS YAMAHA DJX. CONTROL RM1X WITH THE DJX'S KNOBS, PLUS A SLIGHTLY BETTER ARP. THAT TRANSMITS MIDI.
RM1X + DJX + A3000= SONIC WARFARE!!!

I've been experimenting the rm1x for 2 moths now and i feel that it's a great machine. I've worked before with a 505 but i think i prefer the rm1x. Apart from this i just want to know if there is someone who can tell me if it is really possible to use a sampler connected with the rm1x or not (some people say it's possible, others say it isn't).

If u are a beginner or a pro and want to make electronic music. One word "Rm1x".
THis device is the ultimate. U can create just about anything if u want to. There are 46 full drum kits which sounds great. Over 100 SFX. Heaps of kewl bass's. Nice synths sounds, nice warm eerie pads- and if u dont like a sound, with the turn of a few knobs and device settings- they sound great. THe sound engine rocks, also for the price this thing is worth it. It puts the "ALL" in "Got it ALL".
16 tracks. - And for u idiots. yes u can use one track only for 1 drumkit. It can be more convient to put different sounds on different tracks. With 16 tracks u will never run out of room for ur jammin tracks.
4 Megs Wave Rom (AWM2)- If u ppl think thats not enough. Trust me it is...
Large Lit LCD display- THis thing is huge, its like a little computer (sorta).
Rm1x VS MC505- I have heard them both. Yes the MC-505 has ur 808,909 sounds, DBeam, and all that other crap. But compared to the RM- it doesnt come close.
Maybe if an RM2x comes out it will rip the competition even more. Just like the MC505 did to the MC303. The sequel is always better.

I've been using the RM1x for a few months now, and I must say, I didn't know that making music could be so easy. The only limit is your own fantasy. Whatever you have in mind, you can 'put' it into the RM1x. I think if you compare it with the MC505, the RM1x is easier for producing work, not for live work cause then, the MC505 's better. I don't have the MC505, but I used it a few times in a music shop. I read that some users are complaining about the voices of the RM1x. Well, at first, I was also thinking that. But you just have to take your time and suddenly, you are amazed how many good voices you can make. And the price is also good, so I would say, go for the RM1x. (buy the MC505 if you really want to show off)

I love this piece. Compared to my old ass mc-50 mkII this is the holy grail of sequencers. No, the sounds aren't too great, they're a bit repetitive, but I'd say using a few sounds to fill in the gaps from this thing is better than not having the option of using any sounds with other sequencers. As a control unit it's superb and is easy to play songs live on, but the inability to mix different tracks together is a bit annoying at times for live play. I've remedied this by doing parts of the songs on my mc-50 and using the two as almost digital turntables, matching the tempos and fading in the tracks, so it's not too bad. The job menu is god.....easy to use and intuitive, and the big screen is SOOOOO much easier to use than those god awful groove box things. I'd say the choice between this piece and an MC-505 is alost a no brainer.....long live the RM1x!!!! I'd give it a 4.5 as well, just cuz it has no megamix equivilant.
