It's the best drum/prase sampler ever.Period.EQ for each sample,SCENE MEMORY,very handy knobs,-only few bad sings:Release knob,- hey,on drum sampler you don't need it,you need Decay knob;no SCSI built in. I use ES 1,ASR-X,MPC 2000 ,but,SU700 is the best.

Whoever said that the su 700 is wack IS WACK,because the effects on the thing is HOT. I use it with my MPC. And importing Mpc drums to the su is no Joke. I Love the inexpensive piece. Its a good piece to have. Delay effects pitching etc. And on and on.

Okay i read up on all these reviews here before i bought my su 700 and only one review stuck out to be true amongst the other ones. When you sample a sound and try to play it back with the sequencer it adds a midi delay type effect over the sample so the original sound you put in is no longer there. It sounds like crap. If i wanted to put some sorta CRAPPY POPING sound over my samples i would do it my self and probably only one or two not all of them jeez thanks yamaha im done buying yamaha crap the user face and drums are always crap!!! ++ its useless for a sequencer but for sampling and adding effects its pretty cool in that sense but take my word its no akai mpc by no means dont be a fool.thanks dave

Septimo a professional user from usa writes:
I've been using a fully expanded 68mb SU700 with a zip 100 since 2000 and still am amazed by how good of a production comes out, when I work with this little machine.

and NO! the SU is not only capable of creating loops alone, it also is capable of programing individual notes as well...

I think it's only limitation is the users imagination...

I've worked with my cousins mpc 2000 xl but I like the quickness and eagerness of my 700 better. and I don't have to shell out hundreds of dollars on effects!

and it's a great companion to my RM1-X! so I don't need the Rs700 upgrade ever!
