Had this puppy for about 2 months, and now that I know it like the back of my hand, I think I can review it. So...
Best synth I've ever used - hands down. But, I'll list a couple of the quirks first:
1. Voices can be mystereously eaten up even when notes are not being played. (ie, your poly goes down seemingly for no reason)
2. Crashes a little more than I would like. (crashed 4 times in the 2 months i've owned 'er)
Then there are weird little annoyances like in Multi Mode, it tells you that individual sounds are not saved, but does not tell you which ones.
Now the pros...
Sound quality is beyond words. I promise this thing can synthesize ANY sound you've heard in your favorite tracks. Arpeggiator is very good. We're doing live techno and the indigo is perfect for it. Small, portable, keyboard (can you imagine hauling a virus KB out to a gig in a DJ booth?) syncs to clock very well, and the internal routing is great for compression, external FX, etc. We run this with a MC-307 and an Electribe ER1 (great box).
Best things about synth engine : - 3 LFOS with simple, extensive routing - Up 4 OSCs for a patch w/noise! 64 Waveforms available for both OSCs and LFOs!!
Now that I'm extremely familiar with this machine, I can truly say I'm very happy with the thing. The synth engine is mad powerful, as well as ridiculously easy to use. Its small, portable and rugged.
4.8 stars / out of 5
One more side note, the newest OS gives you 256 more spaces to save your patches in! Access is a great company for stuff like that.
Feel free to email me if you have questions, or are interestted in our live setup.
