Unlike the XL rack, this is a somewhat stripped down version of the virus b with less polyphony. For the price you can't argue, it's badass. Onboard fx are killer, and it can make a wide range of sounds, most notably bass and leads. Pads are pretty good too, but I prefer my JP-8080 for string sounds. Awesome synth for industrial, dance, trance, techno, you name it. I ended up selling mine to get the newer XL.

to get the unique "virus sound" just in 1U, rack classic is the ideal and cheapest solution IMO. plenty of warm presets there.. once you get used to usage of it efficiently, brand new unheard sounds are in front of you with a couple of tweaks..

As you said, the VIRUS rack is not the VIRUS indigo, because the features are not the same. But, the first brochure of the VIRUS rack said that it could be upgraded to the INDIGO features !!

I got this rack just a month ago and already got a track done. This synth is the most flexible in it's price range. Better than Novation stuff for sure I have one and it's to clean. I love it sounds and programming is very simple. Will never sell it. Future classic!

I would like to give it 4 since it is'nt as good as the Virus B/Indigo.
