I agree with torres, you hear everywhere analogue synths being hyped, but the hype is true and the virus just sounds like software...

Think very carefully before shelling out for this. Compared to other synths in this price range the Ti can sound like software albeit excellent software. It is very good for pads but not much else I'm afraid, it does not have the density of other synths and bass sounds are sluggish and on the whole unusable. The wavetable section is thin and weak when compared with something like a Microwave XT and the Hypersaw function just widens the sound without making it more cutting and fatter. The menu system is vastly improved from the Virus C though and its very easy to find your way around the functions. My advice would be for you to get a Pro One with MIDI and a Waldorf XT and still have 400 quid to play with.

Hey people all over the world, sorry for my bad english, I didn't pay much attention at school ;-)

a very short summary of my impression: +very good sound, it's the best synthesizer I've heard so far -quality or the potentiometers: some are very weak, some have very strong regions while some regions are very hard... -dust underneath the display -hiss on both analog and headphone outputs -no integration -ABSOLUTELY NOT WORKING AS ADVERTISED

I love the sound, love it love it love it... although it's not capable of those famous dance leadsounds, it can do some very warm, deep trance leadsounds... however the build quality (to me) is not good and it doesn't work as advertised...

Many people voted 3 points, I give 4 points because this expresses my HOPE that access will fix that thing, although the quality of the potentiometers is MISERABLE... So 3 points as well, sorry access fans, this is just my impression... I want to give 5 points, and it's hard not to do so, but I can't lie, sorry

After reading these reviews I felt compelled to make a post. Ive been a TI user for 5 months. Ive not experienced any oddities in its functioning. I should imagine those that do have got an aweful lot of junk on their PC's.

The virus ti sounds remarkable. Its build quality is unmatched and customer support is very good.

Like many keyboardists, I use the virus across genres and I have regrets sinking £1500. I use an analog mono and the TI for poly duties. I personally dont feel the need for anything else.

In real terms it deserves a 4.5 out of 5

Hello there, I use the virus in almost every production. the usual impressions: great, but sonically not very versatile filters, a nice and usable effects section, great for fx, not that usable for the usual dance and trance stack sounds but pads, you need a lof of postprocessing and some real good analogue EQ to make the bass usable, but then the bass is really competitive and fortunately doesn't sound like that cheesy ugly bass from old analogue synths. I like the virus, but IMHO it's a bit overhyped everywhere. I've had a virus B, virus C and now I used to have a virus TI. Right now, it's being shipped back because of some display issues. I'm experiencing the usual stuff like hanging notes etc etc etc. not as terribly as some users seem to experience them, but if you use the USB connection, you have to restart your host several times in a hour, so it's not usable. There are some real genious patches, but compared to the amount, they are rather poor IMHO, as usual, first, you gotta do a few banks on your own.

Some users wrote that it's "built like a tank", IMHO, it beats Yamaha and Roland, but still appears to be some rather cheap production. Probably I'm spoilt.

I give three points. Soundwise 4,5 (wavetables totally unusable, but it's still a virus) but -1,5 points because of all the really annoying issues all the time...

I really hope access manages to fix that box with the OS 1.1 which they promised two monts ago already and didn't release yet...

Please potential buyer, wait until 1.1 and then, if it works, go for it, otherwise grab a used virus C which I love!
