Well I got both MicroQ and Virus b. Pads in Virus b are more animated partly because of the FXs. I don't think Q has a better FX section than MicroQ. So I don't think Q is much better doing pads than the Virus b. For me, Virus b is not only good for punch. It's good all around. Can't think of any weakness.

The B Series has been discontinued. The C series has 32 voices and an updated user interface. Which really is for easier access (no pun intended) to the effects and Arpeggiator. There are also more powerful processors in the machine. It has the same RAM as the B Series and will be patch compatible with the B series.
