The Virus is GOD. I ordered my Virus KB a couple of months ago. I had to get it from New Zealand. However, I got it within one week of the order and only paid a little over 1500 for it(including shipping). So those in the US who are going to buy one, try ordering from out of state. But be carefull as well.

I have been waiting a long time for my Virus B too. I reckon the synth itself kicks arse. I have long since given up complaining about waiting and gotten on with other things. I would not even consider rating this synth lower because of the long (4 month) wait I have so far put up with. If it was a big issue, I'd ask the store for a backup synth in the meantime (luckily they kindly offered that anyway) grab a different synth or get my money back. I'd still really dig the Virus, even though I didn't have one. But I do own one, I just don't have it yet. In the meantime, I'm content using the Indigo every so often at the store, and getting on with making tracks with my other gear (good opportunity to push my existing studio to it's limits!).

I have been looking for some older gear for over a year, but I'm hardly gonna give it a low rating (bringing the average rating down) at synth site cos I can't get my hands on it!

P.S I don't really want to have to wait, but I'm going to rate the synth itself 4 outta 5 cos it's really a good synth, and perhaps I'd give the waiting game a 1 if there was a rating section for that!

I've only had my virus b for a week now and haven't really got the time to try it out for real (i could really need some lessons in synthprogramming), but i love it anyway! Just browsing the built-in sounds made me happy, then you get great support from the access website plus lots of user soundsets! I bought mine used (it was one week old, so i didn't think it mattered that much) so i only had to wait for the mailman.

So I guess Simon that just because you don't have one you feel the Virus deserves a zero rating? Well If you really wanted one you would have not given up so quickly or easily. May be you could have bought one used, found one on Ebay, or looked elsewhere. Just like trying to find old rare vintage gear it can be difficult. It takes time and some effort. Like some of the stuff I have; Prophet VS, TR909, and Juno 106. Funny when I bought the Virus "A" there wasn't as great a demand for it. Now with the next Virus generation and the new raving reviews in "Keyboard" and "Future Music" people are interested in the Virus. If Novation or any other company was the same size as Access with the same overwhelming demand, they would have the same problems keeping up with production too.

Not all Keyboard manufactures are mega corporations like Roland and Yamaha. Thank goodness too. Most of the best and most unique gear comes from the smaller companies. Like the Electrix, Novation, Prophet, Nord, Waldorf, Future Retro 777 and so on...... There is a long wait for the 777 synth also. The Nova is good but very different in sound quality from the virus. In my opinion the virus has a more raw and aggressive analog sound than the polished sound of the Nova. Don't get me wrong. I like the Novation gear. Eventually I'll get the Supernova. But for me nothing sounds like the Virus. Fantastic sounds from O.S. 4.0. Synth programers must try this synth, and don't list to Marshmallow head either. He needs to learn how to rate synths objectively

P.S. I found and purchased an Indigo and it took me a total of 4 weeks. I got lucky. Plus I paid $1500, new!

Forget all these good things people have been saying about the Virus. I have been trying to get hold of a Virus Rack and it has been out of stock everywhere for months. Doesn't matter how good a product sounds if the company can't keep up with their production. I really want to give it a zero out of five.

I have given up waiting and already got myself a Nova desktop and it sounds so good. The most important thing is I don't have to wait months for it.
