This item will be widely available after Christmas. There are limited quatities at www.ebay.com. The MPC 1000 is a nice addition to the MPC 1000. It is a great compliment to the 2000 XL or the 4000 being that it is very portable and weighs only 7 pounds. All features of its older brothers are not fully compatible yet. The 16 pressure sensitve pads are not exactly the same as the 2000 or 4000 but are really nice. It is very easy to use and no manual is really needed if you have any experience with drum machines or sequencers.

I did use the MPC1000 for a while, and it's a great machine. Now you can take about 2 gig of samples on one card. Eff. processors stereo out and 4 ind. outs. 5 MB samples in rom and 128 MB ram in a little packed. It's great for the deejay on the move. But also for the serious producer/beatcreator this is a little dream machine. Akai did a good with this baby.
