OK...So I finally got one of these and it is a very nice piece. You will need some sound moduels etc...to really have fun with it but it is great...Besides, I think Hardware sequencers rule. It is easy to loop and get a great groove with this machiene. If anyone knows somewhere where I can get some free (good) drum sounds, e-mail me. I really have no complaints with this box. I like it alot. simple to use and fun. thanks.

EDGE a professional user from USA writes:
I HAVE A MPC 2000 ALONG WITH AN ASR 10, SP 1200, I have done lots of work on the MPC 60 hears my opinion. SEQUNCER:/The MPC 2000 hands down is the better sequencer it runs my studio I have Cubase on my computer and it's a waste of money (FOR MY ME) with the MPC I can work fast and on the fly like a DJ. The seqencer on the ASR cant handle alot of notes before the timing starts to suck

Sampling:/ the ASR 10 still has the best sample interface the effects and resampling are the best I link it to the MPC 2000 and use the drums in it also the SP 1200 is hella phat for drums much more Crunch then the MPC 2000 because of the 12 bit sample rate I have a friend that has a few #1 hits and plantum songs i went to his preproduction studio and it suprised me when I saw the MPC 3000 on th floor and the MPC 60 was what he was working with he also said that the MPC 60 has more crunch 12 bit rate but it you tweek the filters on any mach you should get a good dirty sound

THE AKAI MPC2000 IS A GREAT TOOL AND I HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR NOW. IT'S GREAT FOR SAMPLING AND FOR EDITING SOUNDS. THE MANUAL FOR THIS PIECE OF GEAR PLAYS A HUGE ROLL IN LEARNING ABOUT EACH OF IT'S FUNCTIONS ON HOW TO. WITH OUT IT, YOU CAN GET BY, BUT LIKE I SAID "YOU CAN GET BY". THE GOOD THING ABOUT IT, IS THAT IT IS TRULY A MIDI PRODUCTION STUDIO ALL IN ONE PIECE OF GEAR. MY ONLY RECOMENDATION WOULD BE TO PURCHASE A GOOD QUALITY KEYBOARD TO GO ALONG WITH THE MPC2000.

no diggity, I LOVE THIS DRUM MACHINE. If you make beats or want to make beats. this machine is what you need. No bones about it. I read the review above & couldnt agree more, the sound disks that come with it are weak,I took your advice & ordered some construction kits. First used midi mark (cuz i heard of them), sounded ok for techno, not my cup-a-tea, used banginbeats.com ....OFF THE CHAIN. everything mapped out for the mpc, just load & go. Thanks for the advice brova. This machine IS hip hop. & its already proven itself to be the hottest Sh*t out, glad i finnaly got me 1. $$$$-the 1 thing i wish it had was more midi outs though., for modules n keys & all. if you get it dont be afraid to build up your sound library though, you might think the sounds that come with it are hot at first, i didnt know any better. i just loved the sequencer & that swing sh*t. but those akai sounds sound clean & all, but there not on that grungy hiphop tip im on. THIS MACHINE ROCKS!! MY PARTNER AND I LOVE IT. THE SEQUENCER IS ROCK SOLID. THE SAMPLER IS SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE. WITHIN A FEW SHORT MONTHS, WE CREATED OVER 100 SONGS WITH IT!! JUST WISH THE OS COULD BE UPDATED.
