To answer a previous question, the MPC2000 does have full scsi capability on the

basic unit. I recently purchased mine after selling a MC-303 and an old Yamaha

RM50 rackmount drum machine, and i am very pleased. A collaborator and myself

produced a 7-minute trip-hop/jungle track over the course of one night. And this

was before i even had a manual! The MPC2000 is easy to use, and all things

considered, has a good variety of solid features. The sequencer is almost like

a middle ground between normal workstation sequencers and computer sequencers. I

refused to use the former until now.

The sampling features are a bit weak at times, but this is more than made up for

by it's interface and features. The "fit" function for auto-looping is brilliant.

I don't even know how many hours i toiled over the 10-button panel of my S2000

trying to clean up loops....now it's done with the touch of a button. However,

The MPC doesn't have the sampling power to replace the S2000...my plans on selling

it have been revoked...but all in all, this piece of equipment takes the

entire concept of electronic songwriting to a new level.
