I give this machine 4 outta 5, because if it was perfect there wouldn't be a XL or 4000 series right???? Anyways, if you need help or advice in making wonders happen w/ your gear, you can get instructional videos and all that by just using the basic search engines on the internet. It's up to you to do the homework but good luck!

Check Akai's support section at www.wkaipro.com for a list o compatible SCSI zip drives. I am currently using a Fujifilm Zip-250 drive at it works with the MPC 2000, 2000 XL, 3000, and the 4000. I have also used an Iomega Zip drive and that worked as well.

Real F***ing good machine, ladys and gentlemen, this is the best hardwaresequencer around for producing rythmatic based music, a midi controller keyboard is a must have for big synthlines. so is a good scsi disk, and there is the main turn off, I've try'd varius scsi disks that worked on akai gear before on the mpc. but i can't get the mofo to work. and the manual is not that helpfull either. so i'm a bit stuck here... maybe i forgot to terminate the scsi in the mpc itself, does anybody know how this is done? please mail me,

Number one it's the greatest hardware sequencer of ALLTIME with a wonderful feel. The sampler is not the greatest but expand the memory to 32MB and it gets the job done. I love the onboard mixer section. Seriously all you need is an MPC2000 an effects box and a CD writer, and of course your imagination to make killer tracks with this machine. Forget software sequencers, the MPC2000 is very powerful, tight and really kicks. And at the current second hand prices is an absolute bargain. Get one now!!! 10 out of 10
