Bobby J a professional user from usa writes:
the mpc 2000xl is the easily the best drum sampler and midi sequencer. when having the sounds u like the best, your drum samples will be hott. i now know why it is considered an industry standard. i must say tho that other than drumming and sampling it sucks for bass lines and melodies. but it is the bottom line of your beat . the mpc 2000xl is a great buy!dont even waste time on the 3000

same here, just got a laptop running logic and every other sequencing progi on the plant along with a real rack sampler to replace the mpc and now I'm currnetly in the prosses of selling the rack sampler and only keeping the lappy for audio editing/resampling of .wav's for the mpc.. hehe .. it's a open system and its simplisity is hard to beat.. instrument of choise..

ive used logic audio for about 4 years. about 1 year ago i purchased and mpc2000 and have not looked back to logic's midi capabilities since. the midi in logic is just as good as the mpc, however i like using my ears instead of my eyes when writing music/tracks, and that is what the mpc is about. making tracks no time waisted on freakin windows and screens, just sound and ideas at your fingertips not a mouse and screensets. i still use logic for audio editing and recording as the power is enormous. its all about what makes you write your best tunes, so if you agree with what i feel your should check out an MPC.

peace

Brown a hobbyist user from London writes:
I had the box for a year. I used to have a w30 and atari back in the day (1992) Sold it. I got the mpcxl and overall, I'm happy with as a strong drum box. I always made beats on a drum machine and this was the next level. I agree....Akai need to sort out thing like the filters, etc....but I really feel that I can do any kind of beat on that box....I love hip hop, but I also love the jazz, brazilian, breaks, etc. and I know this box can deal with the way i'm thinking. I hope to get that karma next and i'm looking to create.......

PS......as you know....it's all about the breaks....your record collection, etc. A sampler is like a pet....you have to feed it good food all the time....

Peace.
