todd worsnip a hobbyist user from london uk writes:
Ive recently just bought the 2kxl after using the 2k , ive never had a problem with either. For everyone complaining about the sample functions and how this cannot be used as a standalone box let me put it simple you mans. This is the ultimate stand alone machine for real grimy hip hop beats . People like dj premier , the beatnuts and dj hi tek use the mpc as a stand alone!..id agree tha if you want to make rnb , pop or techno tunes then yes , you need a good rackmount or a decent sound module along with a controller keyboard. but if you have a nuff crates of records at your yard, and a good imagination then you can make classics on this alone. P.S. any uk producers wanna link to work on soem tunes let me know One!

Demond Wells a professional user from USA (N.C.) writes:
I have a 2000xl it's great! Akia needs to come out with an MPC that has on-board sounds, filters like the ASR-10& other samplers they made & a option to simulate classic Drum Machines such as SP-1200, TR-808 & Linn Drums etc. That would be the Ultimate Machine. More Efx & Ram Also.

The MPC 2000 XL is the shit. I was a user of the 3000 and love it. But the 2000XL is most certainly a step in evolution. Buy one today.

Mike a professional user from Great Britain writes:
The Mpc2kxl was the first bit of kit I owned and it scared the hell out of me at first with it's intimidating appearance. once I had spent a few hours working on it the MPC suddenly jumped to life and became a powerful and user frindly piece of kit. HINT- For a fat kick sound put the filter to 0 and the resonance to 15 on a bass drum and you should get some nice results.Totally worth the money!

Nakanaori a professional user from ann arbor writes:
Continually happy with my mpc. New features each and every week. If this machine is so dope, which it is, then why are all you programmers such bad beatmakers. I mean, with this machine everyone should be producing dopest beats. Buy any akai sampling drum machine.
