Payed 500 euros on ebay 3 month ago.

i was using a mpc 2000xl till i would like to find out what's all about this 12bit-rogerlinn-mpc60 fairytales, so i bought an mpc 60II, no software-upgrade, no scsi, but i picked up the memory expansion for 90 euros. what can i say i'am just impressed. no fairytales, just facts. this mashine makes you creative cuz' you have to fight for every kb. and if didn't hear it with your own two ears you didn' believe but then you know it's all about the sound! it's like witchcraft. maybe not only about 12bit - think it also belongs to the D/A-converters they used in the past. before i used a mpc at all i was using a casio fz1 and a esp 16+ they also sound great - the casio more dirty and it has great filters, but for fast and compfy working i think it's better to use a workstation. didn't listend to 3000 but i think i will sell my 2000xl to scratch money for one, seems roger linn knows what was doin'! one complain! - i'am a little dissapointed about the prices for the software-upgrades and scsi-expansion on the roger linn site, all in all it's a 20 year old mashine!

another thing - i'am sure the mpc 60 mk1 is build like tank but the mkII is also very robust and good build, it's just a little more ugly but i won't miss the headphone jack!

Fazit: i love this little beast, it would be the last thing i will sell! if you see one buy it! don't be scared about less sample-time it makes you more creative cuz you will be more concentrate. also you will select what you are goin to sample more carefully, this is really improve your sample-quality, bullshit-samples will be kicked out! have fun. yeah.

The computer savvy musician... haha.

I could wipe out some quality tunes on this thing with the s900's sine preset faster than it takes to load up your new OS.

Great box! Picked one up and didn't realize how much I would love it. Sold off all my Elektron gear. Not saying you should do the same. I ignore the MPC's for a long time ... didn't realize it was my true calling all along. let alone the 60II.

The MPC 60 is a beautiful, well designed machine that drastically changed music making possibilities and played a pivotal role in the development of hiphop. However, like Ford's Model T in the automotive world, it is now obsolete. Sound quality aside it is a strictly a collector's item. Slow, archaic, and limited, it will seem silly to the computer savvy musician. Just get a "Trigger Finger" for your laptop.

This machine is just special. You can sum it up with one word. Inspirational. I have used many drum machines/samplers & sequencers. And the mpc60 is the best. It has a unique sound and groove you just don't get on other machines. Get one fully expanded and you will never use anything else again. Expensive yes, but worth the extra money...

i've scooped up the mpc 60 mk1 about a month ago, and have been using it like no other. this mpc is undoubtedly the best mpc out there. if you don't have one and is considering gettin' should asap!!! the os is so clean, this thing's chassis is built real strong, the interface is real nice, and it's easy to use. get the version 3.10 os upgrade (which is the mpc3000 os). install a scsi if ya want, but i'm straight with the floppy. i prefer having one track on one floppy (and having everything labeled). though a zip holds alot more, you may forget what tracks or sequences are on which zip....naw mean? but anyway... the os upgrade is a must! there's juss too much to say about this baby....all i know is that i'm never lettin' it go.
