As far as midi controlers go, the akai mx1000 has the best keys I've ever felt! Easy to use, with 100 presets that can be assignable to any one of the 4 midi outs and 16 midi chanels. One midi In (usable if you have the piano card) and one midi thru. You can split the keyboard into 4 different keygroups with each freely assignable as well. Its great for live and even better for me in the studio. If you see one, which now a days seems impossible, pick it up! Its a great deal for the price they go for now.
