Weighs a tonne and is built like a tank... but what a superb sampler! Use it more than my newer Emu's or soft samplers. Use it with ReCycle and Bias' Peak to get the most out of this beast.

This is just a great sounding sampler! I will try to get a second one because it sounds so good, especially in the low and mid. Editing sounds is easy - typically akai. Try the SCSI before you buy it and replace the backlights. Both scsi and RAM are still manufactured. If you got yours, join the S1100 yahoo group for getting support from other S1100 users.

With everyone using s950s, MPCs, and software nowadays for hip hop, i use two of these and a sequencer by the same manufacturere to make music that will make you shit in your drawes. people say...what do you use...i dont tell em. I have two fully expanded s1100s and they destroy the comp. delivering on the lows, highs, and mids. i use these to do whole songs, with the mpc2000 as a sequencer only.

I got mine about a year ago for 1700 SEK, that's about 200$... 200SEK of this was freight-costs. So the sampler itself costed about 175$. The deal of a lifetime. It was fully expanded and I got a 100 mb zipdrive with it. I just love this machine, it's got everything.

The Nicest Hi frequencies to be reproduced by any sampler to Date! Marvelous Stuff! !!! The hardware design is an elegant classic that will never look dated. Well done to the people who designed this beast. ! 100% quality. (don't want to even start on the AD convertors) I use one s1100 with two s1100ex's all maxed out. It costs as much as an s5000 but sounds like nothing else (well apart from the synclavier-fairlight).
