I have had this sampler for about 3-4 years now and I am quite pleased with it. It has NEVER crashed. Not once! That in itself has made it worth it purchase price. It is not as feature laden as an Emu or Yamaha rack sampler, but if you are only looking to "sample" this is an awesome unit. If you are looking to munge, mangle, etc and have no external effects boxes then those other brands may be ore to your liking. This is a real workhorse though, very reliable, what you put in is what you get out. The OS is a breeze, and the small LCD is good enough for me. I have the 8 output board as well. I wish I would have bought a ZIP drive for it a long time ago, as the floppies everywhere are getting to be a bit much. Anyway, great all around or first hadware sampler. Get one off ebay fully loaded for dirt cheap and youd have a powerful, reliable sampler for drum hits, loops, one shots, and even live use......

S2000 rocks. I've had mine for about 4 years and still love it. Best buy for me was a SCSI card (adaptec 2904) for my PC - gets you sorted if you hate the small screen on the S2000 - AND you can then use ReCycle on your PC too - chop up those samples and ship 'em back to the S2000 with a midi file for play back at any tempo. Who needs more? Well, OK it ever hurts, but this little beauty is good enough for professional use. No mistake.

The display is too small and I can't figure how to program the keygroups without MESA (sometimes MESA doesn't work very well... SCSI problems I think). Anyway it's a good piece of gear for that price.

Superb piece of kit. Everything works, even the Mesa on my PC (400MMX Celeron). Ive got the EB16, and 32MB memory. Ultimate machine.

Very robust, easy to use, the sound is clean and loud With the MESA editor program you dont have to worry about the little LCD screen. Without the expansion filter card you only have 1 kind of filter (low pass) Inexpensive Great product.
