well: if i eon't be able to buy a used TRINITY then S2000 is my choice.

i love the machine, my friend borrowd it to me.

it is simialr to EMAX1.

it is cheap and it has superb functions and expansions.

the expansions are NOT cheap but it's worth it.

a SCSI port on board really rocks!!

too bad the LCD is small and it doesn't have the pc software.

well, its sounds pretty good, like the standard kinda sampler of 44k,16 bit kind..but...

when u can buy an output expander, filter expander and effects expander all in1 card for the price

of about 400 pounds for the emu esi32,when these cards cos between 350-400 pounds each for the akai s2000,and the new

yamaha a3000 has effects, filters etc,i think the s2000 could end up being a very costly alternative to these samplers.. ..unfortunately ...i bought the akai s2000.... so emu and extras for about 1300 pounds...

or s2000 for about 900 pounds, plus 399,plus 350,plus 350...hmmm...a bit more i think... o yeh,and mesa for pc is still not out, years after it was supposed to be..and the mac version is bugged...

Mark Lemarr a professional user from England writes:
Readers.. the S2000 is NOTHING like an EMAX1, the S2000 is an excellent sounding easily upgradable sampler with a crap screen. the EMAX1 is a crap sounding non-upgradable sampler that takes up too much room has less memory than a BBC Master computer AND a crap screen. No comparison. Easier to compare it to the S612 and even then I think that Akai would win.
