If you can find one under 100 bucks pick it up. If its more check to see if it has the expanded memory. It does not take standard SIMMs. When I bought mine it already had the expanded memory plus a Scuzzi internal drive. It had built in effects which some of Akai's higher priced units don't have. Try to find one that is already expanded. There is a memory board for it that takes standard 30 pin simms but I don't know how much it costs. Anyway it is a real nice unit.

This is a good sampler if you need an external sampler to take up some up the slack from your Computer programs, After you get use to it and work to get the best sound possible, it kicks ass, the sound is creamy and bouncy. It lacks dynamics of todays, 2006 software samplers, but is still a contender and workhorse.
