I had some wierd sample timing problems with my old cheap simms in my s5k . Basically long loops would not trigger properly in time and drift slightly . Single hits were fine . I have replaced this ram with some decent simms and have had no problems since . Apart from that issue it is the tightest sampler I have ever owned midi timing wise and have had a k2000 (still own) , e6400 , peavey sp . Any scsi II/III hdd should work fine . I have a ibm 9gb scsi III hdd internally and it works cool . Aparently you can use a scsi-ide adapter internally and it works well also .

I think this is the best sounding sampler, what goes in comes out. I have tried it in a shop and I asked them about midi timing problems? but they said that it had problems a long time ago. Is it true that it was a problem or is it still a big issue? I want to buy a S5000 but if it has midi timing problems I have to go whith Emu. It is extremely important to me that the midi timing is really tight, because I use samplers mostly for drums, and when they fail all the song fails. Please anybody! I need a answer about the midi timing! is it tight or loose?

Have anybody noticed problems with midi timing ? I`ve been using s5000 about 2 years now and seems this is the only problem it has now.
