1. As we have figured out on the newsgroups, this LCD issue is an isolated occurrence. They are NOT fitzing out all over the world. This has not happened to anyone I know with one of these machines. Even if it did, it is a WARRANTY FIX. You can have it FIXED FOR FREE.

2. I have not hit a bug that did not have a simple workaround. I have never been kept from doing my work. Nor have any of my friends with this sampler. I've used Akai for 12 years. The 5/6000 series works just FINE.

3. Oversampling rate is not enough to base an sampler purchase on.

4. If you like the EMUs better, great. But STOP SLAGGING the S6000 in every public forum you can find, David.

Watch out people. This sampler has one problem after another. If you just bought one, take it back. I had one and took it back because LCD crashed.

Akai sias ther is no issue with the LCD'e in either the 5000 or 6000. I think this is bull. I went to guitar center Yesterdsay both the 5000 and 6000 brand new on display were burned out. That is the LCD was burned out.

Akai now says that it is sensitive to even the smallest amout os surge!!!!

Come on AKAI. I have been around synths and have had plenty of them for twenty years. This has never been an issue with any other synth or any sampler Akai made in the past.

What is up with the 5000 and 6000 samplers!!!!!!!!!

THere was another 6000 in guitar center loaded. Person did not want it anymore. WHY???? this one 's LCD did work. But me and the salesman spent over an hour to hear it. We were able to load libraries into it. Not one sound could be heard thru the headphones nor Main output. I score it a ZERO... Waited for E-mu Utra with new 32 bit effects option later this year. Anyways E-mu has 128x oversampling ADC while the Akai's only have 64x oversampling.
