I'm stunned by the quality of this old machine. Switch it on, no cracking in the speakers and no noise/hiss. Very clean output even on high volumes. Undestroyable 14 kg heavy metall case. .. Very convincing sound quality. No clicks in low sub-bass/drum sampling. Bass sampling with 5 khz (use filter) works fine. No digital artefacts and no fuzz (12 bit/5 khz!.. an 8th of 44 khz) .. Musical functions like looping back+forth and dynamic filter (via build-in dynamic keyboard). Pro add-on options: battery backed ram upgrade and 6 individual outputs (via cable). Multi- sampling possible, playable via 6-16 keyzones. .. It came out 1986, that's (from today) 25 years ago. The X7000 looks good and sounds good. As an owner of an EPS,S10,S5000 i'm impressed of the Akais power which just leaves others behind. Truly crank it up and enjoy the sound. Word up. .. FloFlood

I have one of these on order for £35 from someone in the UK. £35!!!!!!!!!! (I Used to have one ages ago and recorded my first album with it) I was wondering if anybody knows if the sound library is still in existance (if any). If so, where can I purchase the disks from. I have managed to find one outlet in the Netherlands but I am located in the UK and would prefer somewhere closer to home. Any help is appreciated.

Built like a TANK,Great easy to use Sampler,Love the LFO,sampling Lo-Fi grunginess sounds very good like the Sp-1200 and the CLASSIC EMU series. Small Quick Disk are okay! Are harder getting hard to find,Great for a Synth/sampler collector. If you find one get one.c-ya

its not so fair to compare it w/ a today's sampler,on functions i think. it's cool at its time, affordable than the mirage, well, they sounded different indeed.i bought one in 87 about $950. 2.8 inch(not 2.5" pal) quick disk is so strange for today, and u can do nothing w/o it today.on function, i have to mention the x7000 had a hidden multi-timbral feature that u can play 6 timbres at once, but sadly just can't adjust volume for each timbre(just like the damn korg ds8).it's good enough at that time to play a whole 12-bit grungy drum kit on one x7000.and the sound library is good quality, similar to its big brother/successor,s900.
