This synth is completely analog unlike what a few reviews might say. VCO's not DCO's. Please don't be mislead. Dirty filters that darken up nicely with a little push of the slider. Splended! Can get pulsing, throbing tones ala Pink Floyd from this champ. No it's not a EMS VCS3, but it's also £2800 less.

...what can I say. I pick this little beast up at a pawn shop here in LA for $150. They wanted $200, which it's worth so much more but I put on my game face.
Wow. What an under rated synth (IMO). Aggressive filter section, great arp., plenty of ENV's. Every time I go to a new patch a song begins. More bottom end that what is needed. People that are saying it's not that fat have to be listening through a clock radio speaker (and still it's thick). The filter section on this machine is quite a pleasure to work with. It creates breath into the sound your working with. Even though it has only one VCO you be hard pressed to get more modulation options on a board of this price. What can I say. Buy one if it comes your way. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Analog, through and through.

This is really nice synth with its own character. It can sound fat analogue like a jupiter (but not as warm) and FMish with the VCO MOD feature. I have a Polysix and it´s supricing how much different character they have. The AX-60 can make those fat brass sounds I have wished for. It is really to make own sound with sliders and buttons. I don't think you should compare it to much with Juno 106. This can do some of the Juno sounds but sounds much warmer/fat. There are some drawbacks though. I miss velocity and aftertouch. And the chorusunit is noisy. But I will try to shield it. Other and that I think it was a steal for 2000SEK (aprox. 200$)

I just got my AX-60, and I must say for voltage controlled synth. This is quite a very good sounding one. I never really intended to buy this synth, but since I got a pretty good deal for $226.00 off of ebay, I really can't complain. This synth was recomended to me by a dealer as a good starter synth. I plan to enjoy it for sometime too come. I may not be a keyboard player, but I might try to get back into playing again.
Since this is a hard to find synth, since it was realsed in only a few countries the US being one of them. I don't plan on giving this up. Unless of course somebody offered me a better synth in trade.
For starter synths go this a good one (even better then the Poly-61 by Korg) this is a very encourageing synth to use. especially when used in conjunction with the S612 digital sampler. Has MIDI though very limited, but always a plus. Has sliders, (though I prefer knobs). I would recomend this too anyone just starting out, or to someone who likes 80's synthesizers. Provided you can find one.
