7th year of playing around and adding equipment...i love this piece.

like a lot of people ive made a lot of crud songs over the years while suffering though building a studio one piece at a time over a period of years and getting the learning curve down. its great now that my studio is getting near complete and i can go out searching for some minor-use gear. i know a lot of the cheap early synths have limited polyphony so i could only use them for "flavor".

this machine caught me off gaurd, the sounds you can push out of this machine on the high-end are so crisp. most all the other analogue and ana/digi hybrid synths ive picked up can do massive basses and stabs etc. but wow, none of the cheaper boards i got can do such a nice job on the high end.

if you need some unique sounds for adding a bit of depth to a song this is perfect, the basses are right on target, too. the sliders on the front of the keyboard are excellent and rarely found on models available today for so cheap!

it is amazing this board is cso inexpensive , i would definately pay more than what i paid for it (well, $300 at most unless you can find one in immaculate condition.).

the ax is a great analog keyboard. i have a juno 106 also and comparing them to each other it is definately right with the juno. the juno is a little warmer but i think the ax does brassy sounds better. it seems a little crisper. when i got this board it had some goofy sounds in it. i thought oh my what did i buy, but after having it and programming my sounds in it, it knocked my socks off.seems to have a little more low end than the juno also. dont hesitate to buy one in good condition i think you would be very pleased with the ax 60

It has a kind of dreamlike sound.

It has 2 envelopes, one for VCA and one for VCF. And it has 6 voices. You can set a split point to play 2 different sounds simultaniusly.

It also has a HP-filter (it can't be controld by a env).

It also has 2 odd fetures. 1)It has a PW modulation that works with all of the 4 type of waveforms, and a separate lfo to controll it. This make it sound like it had 2 osc per voice. 2)The VCO can controll the VCF.
