Sound Great !!!!... this was my fist "true" synth and now is alway the master piece of my studio. A sound far beyon my juno106, my JX3P, and even my JP8000 ;-) ..so i'venever say a synth build like this ! you can take it with you in a nuclear war, it will survive !. a love the 'crapy' sound of is reso slider. The keyboard suck, but who care ? ... a very good good synth...

I got the AX60 as my first professional synth, I picked it up for 250 ata resale shop, and Istill use it to this day. Right now I have it hooked up to my Computer, I have the computer played all the digital sounds that I need, and my Akai does all of my analog sounds.

It's like a Juno-106 with grungy tweaked out sound kind of edge to it. I am AMAZED at the fact that these cost the same as the much more common Juno106. I like this one MUCH more than my Juno 106 (which I also like) : ) BUT This makes unique sounds and uses VCO's!!! Not the weaker DCO's. I like it because it doesnt give you those tom, dick and harry sounds. It makes sound that really stand out for being new sounds and isnt that why we buy synths? I was a lucky and picked up mine for $450 (same as my Juno 106 hahaha). ; )

My 2 cents

Horribly violent synth. You can make some great analogue noises with it, and great FX. Just don't look to do pads or strings, even though it is called a "dirty 106". The 1 oscillator system kinda limits the strings / pads. Oh yeah, and like almost all synths from its time, ignore the presets, unless you like the sound of those stupid analogue brass noises.
