I've had my AX-60 for over a good year. I've had an extra input added to the machine and am still waiting for my fucking technician to change the appegiator IN, to accept a roland ex.clock in.
The keyboard is great, I find it to be a "dirty" Juno 106, that is very hard edged and rough. But I wish I had it back to play with as it's been stuck with my tech for the past 6 months.
Also if anyone is aware of any MacIntosh editing software, can they please let me know,
thanks.

Picked mine upped today, traded it for my Kawai K1 (the guy wanted a controller) I think we both made a great deal.... It's not a fat synth, but I think it'll sound great 'in the mix'.. If someone's got a manual in HTML or .pdf or something I'd be very happy, haven't begun looking at MIDI implementation yet, but it doesn't seem exactly selfexplanatory...

Excellent synth, though the sliders are kind of awkward to use. I picked mine up for $150 and it was a complete steal. As other reviewers here have noted, it is a very gritty sounding analog beast that was meant to be Akai's answer to the Juno-106. It's midi implementation is poor, but it's there! It is great for industrial-type synths, and has very squeaky resonant filters.

I do beleive that the AX-60 is a darn good keyboard. I've found the pads to be floydian, and enjoyable. I like the various abilities of the keyboard, but wish it had some kind of portamento.

Had mine for about a year now, limited features but money well spent, picked mine up at a pawn shop for $200. I've used it in numerous songs. I actually think the AX60 sounds better than the Juno-106 which I believe Akai targeted this synth to compete with. If you can get one under $300 go for it.
