I have to give this a 5 because it exceeds my expectations of it daily. Having been playing around with my AX60 for about 7 months I am STILL finding sweet spots.

The CEM 3394 sounds good in this synth - having the interface with all of the control right there is very nice. Not heavy in the bass department, unfortunately, but perhaps some modding will help that.

It gives you sweet analog sounds - it can do smooth and go all they way to being screaming mean. Indeed, the screaming mean, evil sounds are EASY to coax out of this thing. The sweet sounds are all there, too, but you have to learn the synth first - it doesn't respond like a Juno or Polysix will when you're trying to program it. The AX60 will start doing oscillator feedback RIGHT AWAY so you have to back off from there.

Very nice and different synth.

I just bought one of these from Sonic State's classfieds.

Bought it because I was looking for one of the mid-80's polyphonic analog boards with MIDI control. Juno-6, Six Track, Matrix 6, etc. Read some glowing reviews on here about the AX-60 and bought one when I had the opportunity. I use it as my main live board along with Vintage Keys and MFB Synth Lite modules.

LIKES: This machine really has unique sound-generating capabilites. While the presets are for the most part very clean smooth, when you start monkeying with the faders and knobs it can get seriously ugly in a good way!

The AX-60 is pretty easy to use without the manual but having some instruction woulda been mighty handy for this first-time synthesist!

MIDI control is solid and I've had no issue thusfar with oscillator drift.

DISLIKES: It's really big and heavy! And my board has a few dead keys on the highest octave.

Hi, I just purchased this synth and it seems to be very good, but I can't use it very well since where I bought it they hadn't the user manual.. Can someone send me a copy of the manual to this address: isak_temp2000-box@yahoo.it , it would be very appreciated and I could even post a complete review! Thanks a lot, bye! :) Isak

I have the original presets for the AX-60 in a wave file! Anybody have a manual they can copy for me? Swap the original presets for a copy of the original manual. It is very rare to have the original presets.

There are two rev's of the AX60 one with VCO's & one with DCO's. ...so you're all right! :-D

I've got pictures if someone has any doubts!
