I've been using my Andromeda for almost 6 years now. It does indeed have quirks and shortcomings (see 'bug list' on page 8), but all in all it's a fantastic addition to any setup. I wish there was a rack version..! Like many have stated, it's not an instant gratification synth but rather an insteument you need to spend time with and really get to learn. Regarding its vintage sound capacity, I've spent a fair amount of time programming vintage style sounds on it, and it ALWAYS delivers. If you are an experienced synthesist (or strive to become one), the Andy is definately for you, if you want instant gratification and you are happy with the sound of plug-ins and VA:s, that's probably where you'll want to stay. I have a lot of software including NI Komplete, Atmosphere, Sonik Synth, OP-X Pro and much more. I also have a rather large variety of analogs including an SE Code 8, a Prophet '08, a Poly Evolver, a copule of modulars and varying mono synths - new and vintage (including an OB-2v) - and IMO the Andromeda really holds her own.

hello all a6 peoples out there. I am a first time user having just purchased an a6. it is an extremely intricate instrument however this is a highly unique sounding synthezier. very fiddly and raw, i love it and so far out of all the synths this has topped it. the sounds it comes out with are organic and strectched. still got a long way to go on it but so far this is the ultimate synth for any artist that is looking for quality sound :o) cheers ness

Best poly synth on the planet, period. In fact it feels wrong calling it a poly synth because it is such a powerful modular synth and its like having 16 of them. The user interface fools you into thinking it is easy to program,it is to an extent but there is such a deep learning curve that it will make the 'i wanna twist a dial and it sounds good' brigade say its crap. Sit with it for a few hours and make sounds that blow all the old jupiters and oberheims away and yes I own them aswell. This is the best synth ever. Without question a five out of five.

This isn't a toy. It is not a synth for instant gratification but not much else like a Juno. This is a highly sophisticated mega synth for experienced users. If you are an expert programmer, you will make sounds unmatched, aplenty. the interface suggests ease of use. The hidden depth is beyong imagination. This is 16 modular synths in a box. It is also beautiful. I have never had any 'lock ups'. I think it's a myth, though several will say otherwise. I hope they've actually seen and played one! You cannot compare with a Jupiter which is simplistic by comparisson. This synth is more powerful than a matrix 12. That says it all. If you can't get a decent sound out of one, then that's your lack of programming skill. It is nothing to be ashamed of. Just learn.
