I've had the Fusion 6HD for about a year and a half. There were issues with the S/W when I first received it, but it was still an awesome synth/sampler.

The latest version (1.24) has addressed practically all S/W issues, and from what I've heard Alesis is still working on future S/W update(s). This workstation currently offers more than most in a currently rugged, robust and stable platform.

If you're afraid of computers then you may have a learning curve to get around. But I'd say if you are comfortable with managing a file system (w/minimal file editing), then this is your dream board. The price is rediculously low for the amount of power and feature set. The user's of the Fusion have enhanced it's value by offering tips via several mediums, 2 on-line forums, multiple textual and video tutorials. And you cannot beat the soundset that's available, high quality, mostly free, or very affordable.

I don't think there is another workstation that is comparable, let alone less expensive.

Alesis has been a pleasure to work with, I've sent mine in for the Memory Upgrade (128MB x 2 = 192MB x 2 total). They inspected and ran the board though diagnostics to ensure everthing was working to spec. I would highly recommend the memory upgrade.

Later, LT

I use my machines too the max. That is all functions. Can it do what it says on the tin? In this instance alesis have managed to release a bug ridden piece of junk. Take me too court Alesis, I WILL WIN. IN Fact, I'm considering getting trading standards involved. It goes without saying, DO NOT BUY! and consider anything bought from alesis very carefuly. Especially as all r and d has gone out of the window.

OS1.24

Not perfect but still very good companion in my world of music. Very deep modulation capabilities and very wide range of sounds. Missing features like mixdown ,bounce tracks or undo recorded events are IMHO weak point of sequencer, but I hope that will be solved any day.
