Doug: Run, don't walk, to replace your Not-aPiano with Yamaha's P50m. 10,000 times better, just pianos and clavs, great Wurli, RHodes, and CP70B, very usable pianos. Just discontinued so new they're about $170. What was Alesis thinking when they sampled a Wurli? It sounds like the old RMI crap from the 60s. Loser.

Doug Norton a part-timer user from USA writes:
I bought the NanoPiano about two months ago, and I have mixed feelings about it. I bought it mainly to replace the pianos on my Korg X5DR, which really suck. There are only about three or four sounds on the NanoPiano that I really like. The acoustic piano bank lacks a lot, b/c it seems that either the samples are either way too bright or way too dark. On the upside, the brightness really cuts through the mix when playing live. The organs and electric pianos are 100% unusable. There are some bass/piano splits that would be OK if the bass sounds were better. The strings are OK, but the strings on my X5DR are better. There is a pretty nice piano/string layer. I would say that you will need to plan on layering this with something else to get the most enjoyment out of it. I will tell you this: if this sound set is indicative of what the QS6/7/8 is like, I won't be buying any of those, either.

Philip Fortier a hobbyist user from Canada writes:
I'm a guitar player, fairly new to the synthesizer scene. I wanted a realistic-sounding piano module for a good price. I must say, I'm pretty impressed with the nanopiano so far. I compared it to the Kurzweil Micropiano at the store... they sounded different, but neither one was better than the other in my opinion. So I got the nanopiano, because it was cheaper, and had a bigger variety of other sounds. Bottom line, I think its piano sounds are great...

Nano Piano is great! Got mine for half price and had it hooked onto my cheaper (half price as well) Casio CTK-601. Now it feels llike the real Alesis QS synthesizer.

Jeffrey McFerson from USA writes:
I picked one of these up for $260, new. The pianos and organs on this thing sound so real. When I recorded with it, I couldn't believe how good and realistic the piano / organ playback was.

My primary board is a Korg DW-8000 (killer), so I needed a module for pianos/strings/organs, so for the money, the NanoPiano was the way to go.
