I just purchased a QS8 at Christmas and although I am a guitar player in reality,I was pretty amazed at the quality of sounds in the QS8. I got the keyboard from Guitar Center for 1399.00 including a free ram card. The action on this keyboard seems perfect to me. The amount of sounds is awesome. Does anybody have any of the Q-cards? Are they worth the money? I was thinking about buying the classic analog synth card. I really like the piano, organ, synth, and a couple of sax programs. This keyboard is fairly heavy to lug around. I only have one other keyboard for comparison. I tried out everything they had at the Guitar Center and the QS8 seemed to be the most value for the money. They were selling them as fast as they came in.

The QS8 feels great! The majority of the sounds are good with the exception of

the guitars and the brass, specifically the muted trumpets...This thing

definitely has the bank for the buck and expandability beyond our days!

The Alesis QS 8 is a great keyboard. I was definitely surprised by the sounds

of the many different piano's. My only complaint would be the sound of the

guitars, but my husband provides all the guitar sounds that I'll ever need!

A great buy.

Patrik Larsson a part time user from Sweden writes:
Great instrument. Very allround. I don't rely on it to do everything but a whole lot. I think it's kind of week in the analog department and the brass. I'm gonna check out a couple of Qcards for this though. It's not comparable to anything in it's pricerange. Very wellspent money!

Dirge a part time user from USA writes:
A great buy. Everyone told me I would hate this synthesizer for its lack of resonant filters. Pfft, I love this thing! The key action is superb -- as a controller alone its worth 3/4 the price. Then they go in and give you tons of usable sounds, 64 voice polyphony, and sample playback via FLASH ram cards.

This is a wonderful device at a kickass price!
