I just got around to Loading the 3.0 Presets into my Virus A...sure it wont sound as goon on my A then it will on a B, but i reckon the 3.0 presets sound much better than the 2.52 presets..Im finding that I dont have to tweak AS much, although there are still very few Highly Modulated LFO sounds..Pads have improved very much, check out "ober-pad" Close your eyes, and it may make you think of a simple Xpander patch..Finally some good Sub basses have been added..Rob Papen is a genius, as he presets and sound designing is of VERY high quality..I Appreciate my Virus more and more everyday..Id only give it up for a Virus KB, or one of those new Alesis Andromeda Synths : ) hehe..peace!

All i have to say is WOW! this synth blows my mind every time i step into the studio.i have yet to find a sound (preset or not) that this thing makes that i cant use or doesnt quite sound good in the mix. But make sure you upgrade to OS 3.0 if you have the virus (b) the difference between the old os and 3.0 is HUGE, i am not so fond of the 2.5 os at all. I write darkstep and hardcore drum & bass as well as funky/deep house, i find that most synthesizers out there just dont meet the demanding realtime control needs and automation requirments nessissary to really make a track shine. This synth has its bases covered from kick ass pads to twisted distorted analog bases that rupture the dance floor. The filters are rock solid and the sounds this thing makes are a kin to some of the most inovative i have ever heard, it even impressed me more than the all mighty novation super nova. BUY IT ON SIGHT, or regret it later.

I finally picked up my Access Virus today, and ive been all smiles since..It fits quite nicely in the nook of my An1x, but i think ill build a lil deck for it : )

The sounds are utterly amazing, ranging from PPG pads to Moog basses and everything in Between..These presets are actually use-able, and you may find yourself not having to tweek so much when laying the sounds down in the final mix. The knobs are laid out very nicely and very logically, and the knobs feel GREAT. These are appearently the same knobs that were on my old Emu Audity 2000, and my feelings about those knobs were good knobs i have ever tweaked i tell ya : )

This is an Access Virus 'A' 2.52 OS, not a 3.0 OS 'B' version...for the used price i got this for and the condition its in ($800 for a pretty much Mint in box virus)I couldnt really pass this one up, you know? plus i dont really need the extra stuff found in the 'B' anyway..hopefully Access Will do one more update and add something like 6 more voices, and id be ultimatly happy..also, id like to add that the wooden side panels are AWESOME! Not since my Juno 60 have i enjoyed them..Thank You Access!!!

check out the version 3.0 os

24 voices!!! 4 oscillators! 82 effects!

and of course that unbelievable SOUND!

btw, to the previous message, who hates the virus? i've never heard anything but praise for it.

forget the nova or jp8080, the virus b with the version 3.0 os blows them ALL away!
