The keyboard response on this thing is superb for a 70s monosynth - and *not * just the aftertouch. In terms of sheer playability it really puts a lot of the old monosynths to shame.

The Pro-soloist is an exceptional piece of gear that if you know how to treat it can be a very useful lead synth. Raw, it's really a retro thing, think Genesis 1973- 78 or also Floyd circa 1976. I hook mine up through a compressor, chorus pedal (gives the impression of more than the one oscillator) and the Trumpre sound with Wow and full brilliance all of a sudden becomes remarkably moog-like. Use a Big Briar Moogerfooger low pass filter and you have a really good lead synth that isn't just for Genesis wannabes.

These babys are rare now. A good range of sounds and some fun performance controls make them very useable. Good ones are difficult to find. I'm reading alot about ebay crap and kinda agree. Bought a total shit Omni and Source so not trusting ebay no more. The wow sounds are real coool. Great tuning. A lead specialist. See pages for Odyssey and Quadra. Same sounds.

It was very hard but now I have my own prosoloist !! I need this synthtizer to reproduce Tony's solo . No words to describe the dynamic and cool sound . It isn't difficult to find out what you need because the interface is very friendly .

the most underrated and overlooked synth of the 70s and one of the best. No "huge " sound or editing control, but if you put care and sensitivity into your playing it will repay you hugely. Real musicians "in the know " back then - and also now - knew of it as a machine with real expressive power- unlike most of the bigger and thicker-sounding, better known analogue synths - because of its proper touch sensitivity. Don't expect to produce a great sound easily , but this is a great little machine with a lot of expressive potential.
