An odd little thing, the Pro-Soloist was a monophonic, preset synth, with a very few editable paramters, and aftertouch - very rare for an analogue synth. Used a lot by Gary Numan during his 'Telekon' period, the Pro-Soloist is a bit of an oddity and is nowadays quite cheap and obscure - although it's only really useful for doing whizzy solos (hence the name) it's quite a fun thing to play around with.

The Pro-Soloist is the lead synth used by Tony Banks up through Trick of the Tail, when he began using the ARP 2600. Check out Cinema Show and Fifth of Fifth to hear this synth kick some mono-butt. I recently purchased one but it has been a bit tempermental.
